Still happy? Thinking about getting it. Fed up with my battery dying before the end of my work day. Also, the back casing seems to really cover up the camera lens but I'm assuming it's a non-issue right? Many thanks...

Unlike the $15 2700mah I got from eBay, this battery has retained the expected full charge for the two months I have had it (for each charge cycle). FAR better than the cheapos, but costs more, of course. Seidio 3500 has been great for me. The cheapos tend to have problems after a few charges and cut in about half. I guess that is how they are cheapos.
I always by an extended battery for any phone I purchase. Even though I usually charge my phone every night I don't like to HAVE to do it and I like not having to worry about it during the day (although I keep a car charger at hand and have a home charger at home and at work). Before the 2.2 update I could go almost 3 days between charges but now I have to charge it each night and I bought the 3500! If I still have almost half charge at night if I don't charge the battery will be in the orange when I wake up. I've searched the internet for "fixes" for the new update but at the moment there doesn't seem to be anything that really works. I've changed all my settings (no vibrate/dimmer screen/only running programs as needed, etc.). I've downloaded ATK, battery savers, start control programs - you name it, I've tried it. Today was the best day I've had with almost half battery by this afternoon but as soon as I start reading on Laputa or playing a game the battery life slips away. I still don't regret buying the 3500 battery because I can't imagine what my battery life would be without it.
In reference to the back cover, it's not a problem. I even bought the Seidio case for extended battery and I've no problems with my camera lens. I will have to say that the case is no great beauty and doesn't cover the top or bottom (just the sides and the back), but I feel my phone is protected from most dangers and the cover is not shiny and smooth, very low luster black but it doesn't slide on a flat surface and doesn't cause the phone to heat up like the rubbery plastic ones tend to. The case actually breathes so overheating is not a problem.
I would love to hear from anyone who finds a way to get rid of the newest software added with the 2.2 upgrade which cannot be removed nor even turned off permanently. I don't mind the programs I would just have it be my choice whether to have them running or not!
One more thing, be very careful of cheap batteries. They can ruin your phone and will void the warranty if anything happens. I trust Seidio totally and will continue to pay their price to get a product I know I can trust. VerizonWireless doesn't sell the 3500 yet, don't know if they will. If the new 2.2 can be fixed so there aren't so many programs running without permission the battery life problem may go away. As with any technology there are going to be bumps, the companies can't test everything and won't know of all the problems until the phones get out to the public.
