Is this TRUE? Look here R.I.P Desktop Charging Cradle for the HTC Incredible

Before I buy a phone, I research like everybody does. One of the things that is important for me is the official accessories that will be released. The third party accessories usually does not meet the quality, design and functionality that a official does. For instance, I have not found a single desktop cradle that you don't have to connect the power source manually which in my opinion is unacceptable.

I have been waiting for the official desktop cradle VZW6300DTC that was announced and because I was counting on it I purchased the phone.

Motorola has all their accessories lined up for sale from day one, great quality products, great design and functionality at reasonable prices. (we have a Motorola droid and a HTC incredible in the house)

I think I made a mistake when I bought my HTC incredible for MANY reasons, but will not happen again in the future.

Probably this does not affect everyone but I bet that there some people that agree with me and I wanted to share the link.

I would have liked to see this, but in the end its not a deal breaker for me, and I do not regret my purchase one bit. I figured there would be a lot of problems with a dock since their are no charging pins and the usb port is on the left and not bottom.

Our Motorola Droid works great on the dock, it has a port on the left side as well, not in the bottom... Don't see what could be the problem.

The Moto Droid has the magnetic docking thing that puts it into portrait mode. D INC doesn't have that.

I understand that the Motorola has the magnetic docking thing which is nice, but you don't need that! Gravity puts my Incredible in landscape mode as well and software can launch anything you want once the power cord is connected.
I actually have a APP called Tasker (available on the market) which can do many things, but on my Incredible I set up to bring the Desktop clock automatically once I connect the charger and if I hold the phone in landscape the accelerometer of the Incredible turns the screen to landscape!
So basically a dock with power supply and software configuration can do the job without magnets.

Which car dock did you get? I got the one made specially for the DInc, sold at Verizon stores, and it is awesome.

As for the docking cradle...meh. I was bummed at first, but then I realized that cradle would require me to take off my verizon glossy rubber case (which I also LOVE) every time I dock it, which does not appeal to me at all. I was holding out on the Mikradle for word of a dock like this, but I'll wait no longer--it's the Mikradle for me!

seidio cancelled their desktop cradle charger

Seidio had one listed on their website as "coming soon" which was supposed to work with the innocase. But they cancelled it due to lack of incredible sales...during to the screen shortage backorder. They figured people would be buying the Droid X or Droid 2 instead. If enough people let them know they want it then they'll consider making it again. C'mon people send them some emails.

I just got the Tetrax Fix, and I use Tasker to trigger my Custom Car Home application when I plug in the power AND the headphone jack (AV jack into my stereo.)

    Tetrax FIX Line, Black $14.77 | 800-525-3888

The Fix is the one he put on the console next to the shifter, but I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse, so installing anything on the vents is a no-go. The adhesive works beautifully, and holds my Incredible's weight, as well as the weight of the cables plugged into it. Very minimalistic mount.
