Facebook for Android vs Facebook HTC Sense Complications. Please help

I am having a hard time understand the difference between the 2. Can someone please correct me where I wrong.
Facebook HTC Sense allows you to use Facebook pictures as your contact pictures, lets you post stuff through friendstream. I thought before I was able to connect Facebook pictures with my contacts without HTC Sense, but I can't remember.
FaceBook for Android- allow you to look at profiles, comment, post, share pics, etc... (normal facebook use)
When using Facebook buy cling the Facebook Icon, I assume it takes you to Facebook for Android app. I don't recall having a Facebook for HTC Sense icon to use.
Facebook for HTC sense is more of the "software" and not the actually icon, etc... Do I need both Facebook for Android and Facebook for HTC Sense?
If I don't have one or the other, what will happen?

Now when I go to a contact, it asked if I want to link to another account. It gives me the option to link to Facebook or Faceboo HTC Sense? Do I need to link to both or which one should I link too.
I know I have 1 particular contact that has their picture, but when texting them their picture does not show. Any reason why?

Lastly, when I am dialing a number, it show all numbers contact list and facebook. I don't have all my facebook friends stored in my contact list but it still shows their name and number. How do i fix that. I have people that I do not talk to other then on Facebook, that I do not accidentally want to call. I woudl prefer when dialing a number it only shows people in my contacts.
I appreciate everyone's help. Please understand I have been a blackberry user for the last 5+ years! Android is greek to me still.

I don't touch anything Facebook HTC Sense for I see it as a tool working in the background. Now and then I will clear the cache and that is all. All actions I go through the Facebook for Android App. In 15 months no issues. Hope that helps. But I try to just keep it simple so not to confuse.

@wbw80 - I think you need to configure facebook apps on your phone once again. I am newbie to Android too...my facebook works perfectly fine on my android and i have tons of friends with whom i communicate on a regular basis. Also, did you have setup any kind of relationships between contact stored on the phone with the same contact on facebook profile?

Thanks for the help! How do I go about and uninstall. It doesn't give me the option to do so in my manage application section. I would assume if I just uninstall Facebook for HTC Sense, that may solve my issue. I will keep you posted.

Give FriendCaster a shot (free in matket) FB for Android is better then HTC and you can do about the same on the HTC FB that you can on FB4A...BUT HTC is limited to 140 characters...I type more then that in my sleep...HA!!!...FriendCaster gives you even MORE variety and control...you can see ALL your pages...its the best Facebook app out there...IMO
