GPS/Compass Issue on Dinc2
Just when I thought this phone was perfect, discovered this bug tonight
I don't know how common it is, but it's not isolated. Basically, when in maps, the compass' North/South reading is flipped - nothing seems to fix it either. Here's another thread over at DF about it:
Problems w/Sky Map, Maps, VZ Navigator on Incredible 2 - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

Its known and i believe a fix is in the works from htc. Good thing is it doesnt affect navigation or gps functions. Used mine yesterday with no issues. Looks like they put the sensor upside down (front to back) rather.

Yeah HTC emailed back and basically said what you, and others, have heard - known issue, fix is in the works, no ETA. If that's the only problem I have with this phone (which it is so far!) that's fine by me, since it doesn't really hinder actually using navigation. I tried what you said (maybe over at DF?) about holding it upside-down above my head, and unless I was doing it wrong, it was still backwards for me.

I think if you flip the phone over and then spin the top to the bottom and look up into it the map and everything looks right. I've made myself dizzy trying to figure it out...lol

I just downloaded and installed the new OTA update - Android 2.3.3 and Sense 2.1. Good news - the compass issue is fixed.
