Inc2 Bootloader - a very slight glimmer of hope...
I'm sure I'm being optimistic, but at least it wasn't a blanket "No!"...
Dear Nathan,
Thank you for registering your feedback in regards to HTC’s latest statement on bootloader policy. I'm glad to hear that you support us. While the statement notes that locked bootloaders will not be occurring on future devices, the official policy is still being reviewed as it pertains to existing devices. I do hope that we end up doing so. Please keep an eye on HTC - Mobile Phones, Smartphones, Cell Phones, PDAs and HTC (htc) on Twitter for the latest news.

The developers are pretty close to cracking the bootloader on the Inc2 as is, so it shouldn't be too much longer.

I think I saw an article yesterday about HTC releasing an OTA to unlock the Sensation 4G. There may still be hope for the Incredible 2.

Yeah I mentioned that in my original message to them, so the guy either didn't know that or ignored that part.

Awesome... I was hoping to hear something like that soon.

It would be the irony of ironies if they crack the bootloader, and then a week later GB comes out with an unlocked bootloader patch...

The carrier has something to say on these kinds of updates. For example, the Xperia Play ships with a locked bootloader. However, SE allows the user to unlock it with specific instructions. The exception? Verizon version cannot be unlocked at this time. While we know that the T-Mobile version of the Sensation will be unlocked via a future update, we don't know that for sure on the AT&T version. Let's see how this plays out.
