Syncing non-gmail accounts on Incredible 2

I got my Incredible 2 2 days ago and love it...except for one thing: Google seems to penalize you for having an email account with another vendor, e.g. yahoo.
My main email account is a gmail account and I have a second gmail account and a yahoo account.
My main account syncs immediately when mail is delivered, and if I add my second gmail account to the gmail icon, it also syncs immediately. If I add my second gmail account to the regular mail icon (as I have to do with my yahoo account, neither one of them syncs immediately (even when I set the Send/Receive frequency to "Push").
Any ideas?
