Very true...hopefully they can get that soon. The Bolt was/is a beast to root...Inc2 will probably be similar. Though, HTC is about as good out of the box as I've seen to date.

Oh they are. It's not the HTC out of the box that causes me to want to root. It's to get rid of all of the friggin' Verizon bloatware. I can't tolerate having it on my system. Also, I don't trust Verizon for timely updates so I prefer installing my own and not being at their mercy.

I'm by no means satisfied by this, but it evidently does have temp root and you can at least get in and freeze the bloat, which will remain frozen even when you lose root or do a factory reset... I guess it should be called "temp semi" root, as the apps that require su in /xbin won't work, but it's something: HOW TO: Temp Root for DInc2 - xda-developers

Comparing this thing to the X2 - such a different experience. This is like the Bolt, better form factor, better battery life (3G, not even talkin' 4G on the Bolt)... lovin' it so far. Love the X2 as well, but Moto's idea of end-user experience is so different... but it sure is easy to root.
