If I get it, I will do it at the regular price and not waste an upgrade. Yes, the difference is $240, but $430 straight out instead of using an upgrade for a lower cost phone is a better move. The phones will get more expensive and I would rather have the upgrade available when I really need it.

I have an upgrade May 12th so I'm anxious to hear about it too. I have one in June too. I know I know but we have 5 phones. I'm going to shift my incredible to one of my kids and unload one of their Eris' finally.

Consumer electronic devices get more expensive with the passing years? I'm not sure that's a tenable position.

After seeing that it was only $439, I'm considering one. I'm going to see if I can find the official ROM dump and start playing with it. If the phone gets rooted and can run custom ROMs, might move over to it. I'll still keep the original Incredible as I've given my word that I'll continue to support it at least through the next OTA.

I should clarify. At $439, I consider that a somewhat acceptable price for full retail. There will be no future dual core or LTE phones that low, so I would rather save my next upgrade discount for the next big step in the phones if I decide to get this one in the meantime.

Looks like you and I are in the exact same position. Rooting plays the main factor in my decision. While custom ROM's are fun, my MAIN reason is to be able to be rid of the bloatware and have my wireless tether for the iPad every so often for pulling files.

Well shit, if all you want to do is remove the bloatware, you should take my basic ROMs for a ride
They're the work of a true hack who wishes he was a developer.

Medion, where do you post your ROMs? I'm sure a lot of people around here would be interested in trying them out and you can host them for free over at our sister forum, Android Forum
