Junk Apps Downloading

My phone downloads apps without me asking it to do so. They are usually junk. Is there a way to stop it from doing this? Thanks.

Never heard of this on any phone.

What are some examples of these apps? Do they work at all?

They look like they are downloaded possibly from Google Play
Alarm Clock Free - opens
App Store (not Google Play) - opens
Free Spin - opens
Slots Journey - takes me to link in Google Play to install game
Ultimate W... (can't read) - does nothing

Go to the Play store and get Airpush detector and see if any apps show up when you scan.

Airpush Detector found one app, Google Calendar, but I don't know what to do about it. Google Calendar is something I use daily. I checked the settings of the app, but there was nothing I found that would change its behavior.

I'd get it to search different parameters. I don't have it on my phone anymore but do remember you could change what to look for and it found Airpush only stuff.
Google is not one of them, it just has access to push notifications is why it showed up.
I went back and checked. It's Ad Ons detector I meant to suggest.
