I have both phones active but I think the radios on the 2 are not as good as the original one, at least mine aren't.

Yes, the radio / reception on the 2 was inferior to the 1. Other things such as the screen view for one is much better than the 1, outside the 1 was almost un-viewable...

I switched and have been super happy. About 250 apps and no problems of note. The out of memory problem appears to be fixed.

Drawbacks/quirks - power switch moved, charger connector flipped, battery & case size is different.
I got the expanded 3500mAh battery & case and like the extra battery time.

Even got my incredible 1 fixed, use it WiFi, without phone access.

No rooting necessary or recommended for the 2.
