Will the HTC Rhyme charm work w/my DINC2?

I was asking about Revolutionary since I wanted something that had Sense 3.5 and I couldn't find info about it. I went ahead and ran Revolutionary, but it seems I still have Sense 2.1. I try to hold the VolDown key and the power button and nothing happens. Black screen until I let go of the vol button and the phone starts. Any ideas? Now, I know I'm probably really getting on your nerves (I'm sorry) but I'm in over my head and you seem to be my life guard. Now I was reading on the Revolutionary page that this doesn't root my phone. I needed to flash a superuser program, which I downloaded. I'm just not sure what to do w/it. And...I think I figured out that this isn't really going to change Sense until I run a new ROM, right? If, so...I really need your help, jpr! :}

Sense is part of the HTC-VZW ROM, and it is part of some of the available 3rd-party ROMs, but not part of other ROMs for those who are not fans of the Sense User Interface.

Pull the battery for a bit, then boot when holding VolDown and Power. Should give you screen like you saw before, but now S-OFF instead of S-ON, and Hboot now 6.13.1002.

At that point, the cursor should be on FASTBOOT. Hitting the Power button should now show slightly different choices, one of them being Recovery. Can you get there?

Thank you so much, jpr, for your help! I've been messing w/this all afternoon. Since the first post, I pulled the battery like you suggested and that helped w/the Hboot. I figured out how to install the zip file for root, downloaded Busy Box, Rom Manager and Titanium. I followed Nils' instructions as best as I could for Business Ginger Sense. It keeps failing. Now, I think the only thing I haven't done that he suggested is update the radio from 1.09 to to 2. Any ideas?

Whoa! When I had a DInc, my two favroite ROMs were MIUI followed by anything of Nils'

But Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore: I've never seen any work by Nils for the DInc2.

Because you made me re-think Nils' Rom, I realized that it was for Incredible. I mistakenly thought it would work for both the Dinc and the Dinc2. I found Mikrunny v1.01 and it seems to be doing well so far. I'll let you know.

My daughter has a Ryme. It has software exclusive to it. The charm does not work on my Inc or Rezound

You'd be wrong, it works on the Rezound. You just have to enable it in the menu once it installs itself on your phone.

Did you check your menu under settings to see if there was a newly added charm menu? if not I'm sure there's a charm.apk or something similar floating around. Or possibly even newt can pull that setting from the charm's ROM.

I was thinking about buying this for my fiance so I may just test it out myself and see if I can get it to work
