adb shell vs terminal emulator

Ive been reading and playing around with my terminal emulator for a long time now but to be perfectly honest I havent figured out its usefulness. Its probably just be and im fine with that but my question is this: Is there a way to enter recovery by ONLY using Terminal Emulator? The command I have to enter requires me to be in recovery and have emulator running.


:/ I know the next question you are going to ask is how will you enter your commands while in recovery well...i havent gotten that far yet...

# reboot recovery

But like you have said a terminal emulator will not work from here. You'll need the real ADB from the SDK. Although if you wanna try something for me let me know.

l appologize for not explaining further. This is what I am trying to do and if its possible to ONLY do it through terminal emulator it would be great.

It will only get you into recovery. You will not be able to do anything from there.

Ultimatley Im trying to just get a better battery life out of my phone. Im running kingxKernel right now on cm7 and my battery life between 10pm to now dropped it to 30% with only minimal usage. Ive tried 3 other kernels and all with the same result as this one.
