The Longwinded problem of being an idiot.

Alright so here's my problem, and why I, being an idiot caused this.
Got it rooted, says S-OFF in the HBOOT menu, I foolishly did not back up my current settings, and installed a ROM(Why I'm an Idiot), now I get the white line, black background screen, I can't reset it to default, I can't pass go, I can't even access the files bein untech savvy, so did I completely screw myself or am I just a big fat stupidhead, and there's some "easy" fix to this?

That would be nice, if I could access my phone through my computer, or whathave you, Like My phone only has the Hboot, I can't enable USB from it, I can't even access the phone from my computer. It recoginizes the connection on the phone atleast, just nothing on my end. As far as what screen mine is, I have no idea XD

OK, the experts in the area will be back soon I imagine. It sounds like you're not dead in the water by a long shot. Just going to need to do some corrections. s197, Doug and Tweebee should be around and see about getting you moving again. Alas, I've been out of the details of troubleshooting for awhile so I'm not much help. Stand by.

My thought is that you're going to have to get one to fix this. Don't think there will be another option. They aren't expensive, just will have the problem of finding one right now with everywhere closing for the holidays.

Yea sorry for the problem, I agree with what they said. It seems to me, the way you described it at least, That you do have an SLCD screen which means when you rooted your phone through unrEvoked the recovery was not flashed right so when you tried to flash that ROM of course it wouldnt work. THat fourm on the black and white bars in recovery is the forum for you but only after you rooted and before you tried to flash the ROM. Doug im sure has a solution for you. Did you do a battery pull and your phone works fine now? Or it is messing up when you go to turn it on?

    Root: Unrevoked v3.2, S-Off
    Clock: 1.13 GHz
    Kernel: 2.6.32.17 Homebrewed #10
    Radio: 2.15.00.11.19
ROM: Latest CM7 Build W/ Theme Mixer
    Revovery: ClockworkMod 2.5.1.2
SD Card: 8GB PNY Class 4

Well the good news is I don't think your screwed. The bad news is you don't have an SD card reader, so this makes it a little more difficult. I THINK the white lines with black bars is only a visual thing, as in recovery is there just the display is messed up, so what we could try is to do this blindly. Lets try this: Boot to HBOOT, then go into recovery. When you get to the white lines with black screeen, plug your phone into the USB on your computer.

    Hit volume UP
    Hit volume UP
    Click Optic Ball
    Click Volume Up
    Click Volume Up
    Click Optic ball

Hopefully this will mount your USB storage allowing you to access your SD card from your phone. If this allows you to see your SD card from your computer, you can put the necessary PB31IMG file on your SD card from the tutorial. I don't think this has ever been tried before but worth a shot. If it doesn't work, you're going to just have to get your hands on a SD card reader to put that file on there.

I am having a similar problem, however I do have an SD card reader. My problem is that even when I put the img file on the root of the card, HBOOT does not see any recovery images to update. So I am stuck at HBOOT or the HTC splash screen if I boot regularly. I have tried reformatting the card to FAT32, but it did not help. Can anybody shed some light on what my fix this?
