I was in the same boat. The update to 2.2 will also update the radio on its own, so don't worry about updating the radio unless you want to use one of those custom roms like skyraider. You should install unrevoked forever and unroot before updating. 2.2 itsself will give you the flashlight, but you will have to reroot to get (free) wireless tether. I think hulu is a whole different story.

Ok Do i unrevoke forever first then unroot then update to froyo
do i do the ota update or download the leaked froyo 2.2
i hear if you do the ota update it locks your phone and you cant root anymore is that true
i dont think i need the custom roms unless they do something spectacular
i got nothing on my phone so i can just wipe it
what is the radio anyway what does it do
got any links to do all of this
thanks for the help

Yes, install unrevoked forever first, then unroot. You can either wait for the ota, or just do it manually...I don't think it matters. You will have to check your build version to make sure you don't have to update that first (it should have 605.2 as the last numbers, if not there's a needed update). The OTA does take away the root loopholes (for now anyway), but that's what unrevoked forever is for, it prevents this. The radio (from my understanding) is about the reception and I think the 720p ability of the video camera. Again, it's included with the update, so don't worry about updating it separately. I can't really go hunting for all the links for you right now, but if you just check around the threads here, you'll find what you need. Make sure to look in the hacking forums too...they'll help you get your root back.

Yup. Make sure to check your build number to determine whether or not an additional update is needed (it was with mine). Then check the hacks section for how to regain root.

Moving thread to the Hacking Help section...
